Philip trained at the Guildford School of Acting 1971/1974

As a performer he played in repertory at Cheltenham, Eastbourne, Hereford, Chelmsford, Basingstoke and Chesterfield and toured in many productions from 1974 - 1985 including visits to Hong Kong and Toronto.

His West End debut came in the national Theatre's production of "Equus" directed by John Dexter.

In 1985, having worked for the company for many years as an actor he joined Newpalm Productions and Barry O'Brien (1968) Ltd as General Manager and was the Administrator for their annual repertory season at Chelmsford for seventeen years.

Philip was also General Manager for numerous West End, National Tours and Resident Seasons including co-productions with Michael Codron, Michael Redington, Mark Furness, Paul Elliott and Bill Kenwright.

In 2001 he became Administrator for Richard Temple Productions touring "Return to the Forbidden Planet", "Having A Ball" and "I An Actor"

Philip joined BSC in November 2002.
