Terrible Tudors at Hampton Court Palace

1 June 2016

A real treat to perform at Hampton Court Palace!

It's not often you get to act out historical characters in the homes of the people you're playing, so performing Terrible Tudors at Hampton Court Palace has been a tremendous treat. We've enjoyed strolling through the palace each morning in our Tudor costumes, walking past the rooms where Henry VIII and his Queen Anne Bolyn lived. Our route takes us past the court where Henry was playing tennis when Anne was being executed at the Tower. This is the fourth Palace BSC has performed in - Kensington Palace, Buckingham Palace and the Palace of Westminster - and you can probably count Chatsworth House which was kitted out with state rooms for the arrival of William III. It took twenty years to complete the refurb - and then he never came!
