Patrons with a disability or who are hearing/visually impaired are entitled to half price tickets for themselves and a companion at the majority of productions. Contact the Box Office on 01293 553636 for more information.

Disabled Access

The Hawth car park, situated immediately outside the venue has assigned disabled parking, as well as free parking for cars and coaches. There is level access into the theatre and adapted toilet facilities on two floors.

We have a reserved area capable of accommodating five wheelchair users and their companions in the theatre and five spaces in the studio. A wheelchair is also available to use free of charge (please call in advance to book). The Hawth has a lift to all floors.

Facilities for Deaf or Hard of Hearing Patrons

The Hawth offers British Sign Language interpreted and captioned performances throughout the year. Details of forthcoming performances can be found in the Access Newsletter above.

The Hawth has an induction loop system installed in the theatre and studio for patrons with a ‘T’ switch on their hearing aid.

Facilities for Visually Impaired Patrons

The Hawth’s Audio Description team of volunteers offer an audio description service during selected shows, describing the action on stage through headsets which can be reserved at Box Office.

The team also offers Talking Programmes. offering background information on the production and performers prior to selected performances. The service is via headset and begins 15 minutes before the show.

Free Touch Tours

Visually impaired patrons and a companion have the opportunity to take part in a free touch tour prior to the show, where you can be guided around the stage to familiarise yourself with the environment. You can feel the stage sets, props and possibly costumes an hour before the start of the show (subject to producer’s permission) and you may also be able to meet some of the cast. Please ask Box Office for further details when you book your tickets.

Family Access

The parent and baby room is situated on the ground floor, adjacent to the male toilets. A limited number of booster seats are availableon a first come first served basis.
