The Orchard Theatre is conveniently located in the heart of Dartford’s town centre and attracts the latest and most sought after touring productions in the UK. We offer a range of entertainment from leading West End musicals, top comedians, bands, dramas, dance, classical music and opera. And of course, our ever popular annual pantomimes.
Dartford has been a busy market town with a rich history since the Romans. It plays host to a very popular and vibrant twice-weekly market within the town centre.
The Orchard Theatre was officially opened on the 14th April 1983 by His Royal Highness The Duke of Kent and quickly gained a reputation as one of the country’s premier venues presenting a remarkable range of entertainment. Since opening, The Orchard Theatre has enjoyed incredible success by opening its doors to some of the biggest and most respected names in the fields of arts and entertainment.
The Orchard Theatre is situated in Dartford town centre with Dartford railway station just two minutes' walk-away. There are direct trains from South East London and Kent.
Easily reached by car, The Orchard Theatre is well sign-posted on all local routes into Dartford. From the A2 and M25 follow signs for Dartford Town Centre.
The Orchard Theatre recommends the following local car parks that could be used during your visit to the theatre:
THE CIVIC CENTRE CAR PARK
Parking is available at The Civic Centre Car Park just over the footbridge (free access after 6pm Mon-Fri and all day at weekends) and Prospect Place Retail Centre Car Park (up to 4 hours free parking between 6pm – Midnight Mon – Sat and from 8am - Midnight on Sunday).
THE SURFACE CAR PARK (PREVIOUSLY WAITROSE)
Closed until further notice.
THE ORCHARD SHOPPING CENTRE CAR PARK
The Orchard Shopping Centre Car Park has now re-opened fully and closes at midnight every night. There will be a parking charge for both daytimes and evenings, payable ath the shopping centre pay stations.
