Fourteen Reasons

There are fourteen reasons to finally vote out the Tory party this election – the fourteen years they have decimated the arts in schools. In 2010, my theatre company could play to packed audiences of school children across the country. Fourteen years later schools can no longer afford to visit theatres and children are being denied a crucial part of their cultural education. We played to the most fantastic audience of children in Glasgow last week – but while rejoicing at their amazing reaction to the show, I was also left heartbroken that so few children are having this experience thanks to the Tories’ devastation of arts in the curriculum. It’s just one more aspect of the country that the Tories have totally destroyed.
