Today was a strange and heartening day. We really enjoyed performing Barmy Britain at the Apollo in the morning, then I headed down to Tower Bridge Quay to watch two excellent performances of Terrible Thames on the river and enjoyed afternoon tea with some of the actors, then headed back to the Garrick to meet up with the cast of Billionaire Boy. I saw the show yesterday and it was in such good shape – fresh and gloriously alive, in spite of twelve shows a week. It was also great to have tea with one of the actors from our national tours. It’s been a full and exhilarating day of theatre, all getting a marvellous response from the multiple audiences. We all feel very lucky to be performing, to packed houses and boats! It’s a summer that just a few months ago we thought we could only dream about.
