So on the day when everything went wrong, and all the theatres closed, I sat amongst two thousand people to listen to William Shatner in probably the only venue left open in London. Nearing ninety years old, he is as sprightly and as sharp as a man in his sixties and absolutely brilliant. I didn’t know he could be so funny. Never have I experienced a more surreal evening – my company in turmoil, apocalypse outside, and there I am joyously watching Captain Kirk galloping around the stage. Life has its moments – and this was one!
